We value our incredible Certified Nursing Assistants and want to ensure they practice at the top of their license to better optimize their skills and experience. We’ve also developed a career path framework for CNAs that clarifies paths to move, develop and advance CNA careers into nursing and other roles. The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.

At Penrose Hospital, a proud Magnet® designated hospital, the Bariatric & Back department sees a wide range of issues but specializes on spinal and bariatric surgery. We are the only floor that is equipped and trained to take a bariatric surgical patient, so we offer a specialized skill set with multiple growth opportunities for our staff. In our department, we currently have 23 beds and a 1:4 or 1:5 nurse patient ratio. Our department focuses on teamwork and dynamic problem solving. We want everyone to feel like they have a voice and get the support they need. Our department is full of nurses and support staff that are fun, motivated, and true team players. The ideal candidate is a dependable, hardworking, and a creative problem solver. This team thrives with caregivers who are passionate about the care they provide to patients and their families and who is dedicated to our department.
