The Eligibility Specialist is responsible for conducting eligibility screenings, assessment of client financial requirements, and counseling patients on private and public medical benefits including insurance benefits and co-payments. The Eligibility Specialist serves as a liaison between the client, physician, community agency, hospital, and governmental agencies; and is actively involved in all areas of benefit navigation and application, care coordination and case management.

Potential programs that a client may be eligible for and you may assist with as an Eligibility Specialist include: Adult Medicaid, Presumptive Eligibility, CHP+, Family Medicaid, Long Term Care, Emergency Medicaid for undocumented individuals,. Some clients may also need assistance with Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicare Savings Programs, Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy, SNAP, Pharmaceutical Savings Programs, and other public and private benefit programs.

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in determining eligibility via the Colorado Benefits Management System
• 3 years of hospital/medical business office experience with insurance procedures and client interaction
• Strong familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
• Demonstrated communication, problem solving and case management skills and the ability to act/decide accordingly
• Ability to collect, synthesize and research complex or diverse information
• Exceptional customer service and the ability to plan organize and exercise sound judgment
• Knowledge of Government eligibility program requirements is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of Outlook computer programs, i.e., Microsoft Excel
• Bilingual preferred
• Heart-saver AED CPR Certification if required by facility

Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Physical Requirements-Sedentary Work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert/lift up to 10 lbs. force occasionally)
