Provides oversight, support, and counsel to the Medical Staff leadership in all matters relating to medical staff governance for the market. Responsible for all credentialed providers meets accreditation and statutory requirements advancing the quality and patient safety of the facility.
Develops, implements, and manages an integrated credentialing program and oversees the effective functioning of credentialing/privileging for the Medical Staffs, the Advanced Practice Providers Staffs, Clinical Assistants for the market sites, to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, Medical Staff Bylaws, credentials policies, rules and regulations.
Serves as the leader of the market and will assure the Medical Staff meets the requirements delineated by state, federal, and accreditation standards and its responsibilities as delineated in the policies of the Hospital, the Bylaws, Rules & Regulations of the Medical Staff, while upholding the common values of Collaboration, Justice, Stewardship, and Excellence.
This position provides operational leadership and oversees the execution of short and long-term local projects to support local and corporate operations and requires collaboration across the market to achieve strategic goals.
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Experience -Minimum of (7) years of experience in a Medical Staff Services Department, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
Education -Bachelor’s degree preferred. In lieu of educational requirements previous work history and years of experience may be considered.
Licensure -Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification required. If not certified, must achieve certification within 3 years of hire.
Physical Requirements - Sedentary work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10 lbs. force occasionally
