The Region VP of Service lines will design, develop, administer, and direct programming and business development activities related to the designated Service Line across the Region, in furtherance of the Region’s strategic goals and in alignment with System Service Line priorities. These activities include evaluating the components of services now available to identify growth opportunities as well as gaps and barriers within the system and developing processes with team members to reduce the gaps, overcome the barriers and provide appropriate access within the management markets we serve. This position will be responsible for placing the organization as the leading choice of care for these designated services, will report to the SVP, Physician Enterprise with a dotted line to the Region Chief Strategy Officer and have a critical relationship with dyad partners. This role will partner with their physician dyad to provide a rational distribution of services across facilities within a market to enable sufficient volumes and efficient use of human and technology resources. They will collaborate with dyad partner and executive leadership, to identify the physician alignment model and physician complement to support service line program development. The position will require strong skills in working within complex and matrixed health systems and in managing through influence. This position

will play both a robust strategic role in ensuring program growth and viability, as well as a tactical role of ensuring that work processes are designed to produce high quality clinical outcomes in a cost-effective manner, in accordance with regulatory requirements. Participation in the leadership of clinical standardization and clinical value transformation activities across the Region will be a critical aspect of this role. This role will work collaboratively with the clinical teams, in order to provide the highest quality and appropriately accessible care to the communities we serve.

 

Essential Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Leads the development and implementation of integrated, patient-centered cardiovascular care delivery, including cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery, cardiovascular diagnostics, and rehabilitation.
  • Fosters development of programs/centers of excellence in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure, structural heart, cardiac surgery, and vascular surgery, and other sub-specialty areas
  • Oversees vendor relationships and contracts related to registries (NCDR, STS), 3rd party data 
  • abstraction, AI imaging software, etc in alignment with System contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and evidence based care related to AHA/ACC clinical guidelines, protocols, and quality improvement programs (Chest Pain Center, TAVR accreditation)
  • Collaborates effectively with other service lines to develop cross-service line patient care needs (idiopathic stroke, CEAs, etc)
  • Builds strong relationships with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiovascular and vascular surgeons.
  • Participates on CSH National Cardiovascular Executive Council and sub-councils.
  • Partners with Physician Enterprise and independent physician groups to align on recruitment and compensation to drive service line growth.
  • Monitors quality and financial performance for key areas of focus (interventional cardiology, structural heart, cardiac surgery, heart failure, electrophysiology, vascular surgery).
  • Aligns clinical performance with System CVSL standards and clinical institutes.

Qualifications

In addition to bringing humankindness the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

 

  • Graduate degree required in applicable field of study
  • Seven (7) years of healthcare service line leadership experience

Pay Range

$100.03 - $140.04 / hour
