Overview

The Region Vice President, Nursing Practice, Education, and Well-Being provides strategic and operational leadership for professional nursing practice, clinician well-being, patient experience, and education across the Mountain Region. This role ensures the advancement of evidence-based practice, professional development, and a thriving practice environment by aligning clinical excellence with workforce wellness and engagement. The VP collaborates with hospital nursing leaders, human resources, education, security and DEI teams to ensure clinical practice and staff well-being are integrated into broader system goals. The position supports innovation, shared governance, and retention strategies, with a strong emphasis on building a resilient and supported nursing workforce.l

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • RN license, compact eligible
  • MS in Nursing or BSN with Master's in related field (MHA, MBA, etc.)
  • Minimum of 7 years of healthcare experience with at least 3 in an executive or system-level leadership role
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership managing clinical staff, education, or professional practice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience iwth Magnet, Pathway to Excellence, or shared governance 
  • Proven success in clinician wellness or well-being program implementation 
  • Healthcare leadership certification (e.g., NEA-BC, CENP) 

Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of nursing practice, professional governance, and Magnet principles
  • Knowledge of wellness program design and resilience science
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate education programs at scale
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Familiarity with workforce engagement metrics and strategic staffing practices
  • Excellent data literacy, with ability to assess trends and outcomes across multiple facilities
  • Ability to lead teams through change, ambiguity, and transformation

Pay Range

$227,871 - $319,020 / Annually
