The Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program is a hands-on, 6-month program starting on August 18th, that prepares students to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant test (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association. The program includes online learning and on-site labs at your local Community College.

We want to financial contribute to your success in this program and we will pay $2,500 of your tuition! During your time in this MA position and program, we will pay you an hourly rate as you gain the necessary skills to pass the certification exam. Once certified, you will have a seamless transition to a fulltime certified role with us at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region.

MA Apprenticeship Program Details:

• Your work week:  12-32 hours, 2-4 days, Mondays-Fridays
• Your school week: School 1 day per week.
• Optional schools to enroll with for the MA program: Arapahoe Community College Virtual Campus

While you are working as a Medical Assistant Apprentice, you will be based at local Durango locations/clinics, that report up to Mercy Regional Medical Center:

• Ask recruiter about specific locations.

Medical Assistant Apprentice Requirements:

• Demonstrated customer service and leadership skills; through high school organizational involvement and or previous employment.
• Demonstrated basic office and computer skills.
• Demonstrated basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, and E-Mail.
• Attention to detail
• HS Diploma/GED, required
• BLS, Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association is required within 90 days of employment
• Ability to enroll in Pueblo Community College - Durango Campus, Pueblo Community College - Pueblo Campus, Arapahoe Community College, or Front Range Community College, required

Highlights of St. Anthony North Hospital include 60,000 square feet of integrated physician clinics for both primary and specialty care, an ambulatory surgery center, birthing center with private birthing suites, Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services, 100 inpatient beds, and outpatient diagnostics center with lab and imaging services. In early 2022, we will open a new, state-of-the-art orthopedic center just south of our health campus.

Pay Structure: The pay for this position is $18.00/hour with an incremental increase to $18.50 after 3 months and a final pay of $21.25 upon certification.
