Job Summary
Provides leadership and oversight of all aspects of Medical Staff governance to include credentialing, peer review, medical staff relations, medical staff meetings, and management of multiple Medical Staff Services Departments. Due to multiple Medical Staffs and facilities, this Manager must establish many effective relationships, work within multiple organizational structures and cultures, manage various systems/policies, and move between facilities with ease. This position has responsibility for compliance with all Joint Commission, CMS, Department of Health and ACCME accreditation and licensure standards, and numerous state and federal peer review laws. Responsible for meeting all reporting requirements appropriately for the licensing entities, DOH, CMS, and NPDB at each facility. The position plays a key role in physician recruiting and retention, department performance improvement and patient safety initiatives, and serves as an essential link between the various Medical Staff, Administration and Boards with the coordination of information flow.

Minimum Experience Requirements
Three years of experience in medical staff governance, credentialing, medical education or related health care setting.
Previous leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of the Joint Commission, CMS, ACCME and Department of Health standards. Successful experience with previous accreditation surveys.
Proven supervisory skills, ability to educate and motivate physician leaders and to effectively facilitate the Medical Staffs
self-governance systems.
Strong computer skills with previous experience utilizing credentialing software.
Proven abilities in arbitrating and negotiating issues between physicians and Medical Staff leaders/hospital departments.
Education Requirement
HS GED
License/Certifications Requirement
Current certification as a NAMSS Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required, or achieve
certification within three and a half years of employment.
