In this role as a Physical Therapist (PT), you will be responsible for a continuum of services providing care to patients with neuromuscular, orthopedic and other physically-related disorders requiring mobility training, strengthening, modalities, specialized manual therapy and neuromuscular reeducation. As a Physical Therapist you will also utilizes rehab process to promote and restore optimal health and well-being of the patient. While in this position you will assume personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
The work schedule for this inpatient PRN PT position will cover varied days from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Our PRNs must cover four shifts per month in addition to one weekend. We alternate who covers holidays on our staff. In a PRN employment, you can anticipate covering the winter and summer holidays each year.
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified Physical Therapist candidates will need the following:

The Inpatient Rehabilitation department at St. Francis Hospital, Capron Neuro and Trauma Rehabilitation is an acute inpatient rehab facility with 27 beds which is part of Penrose-St Francis Hospital system. We care for patients who suffer from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumas, neurological diseases, spinal surgeries and amputations. We receive admissions from Penrose and St Francis primarily and do not have overflow. Our mission is to support patients and their families in physical and emotional healing to gain maximum functional independence.
Our goal is to support patients on their journey to be as independent as possible. Our average length of stay for patients is two weeks which allows time to connect with patients and provide them with education that includes teaching of new skills and providing support as they adjust to their ‘new normal’. Our interdisciplinary team is the heart of our unit and is integral in helping patients reach their maximum rehab potential.
