The Facility-Based Clinical Educator is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in clinical nursing and a passion for ongoing support and development for Common Spirit clinical associates. The Facility Based Clinical Educator assumes accountability and responsibility for provision of professional development to positively influence the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care. Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a program of education at the facility level. Programming includes coordination of orientation on units, ongoing staff competency as well as continued education at the unit and/or facility level as identified by needs assessments, audits, data informed decision making and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to their populations. The scope of the education will be determined through collaborative practice with leadership, educators, and providers to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care; assumes the role of an educator, facilitator, consultant, researcher and change agent. Works closely with the Enterprise Clinical Educator to align with annual education initiatives, clinical orientation, and other enterprise initiatives. This position reports centrally at the enterprise level to the Enterprise Director for Clinical Education.
